What are fasteners?

These are the bolts, screws and washers needed to attach the memorial marker or plaque to granite, cement, rock, or resting surface. These are generally referred to as “mounting hardware”.

What are Bosses?

Bosses are thick metal plates resembling a thick threaded washer. Since the bronze plaques thickness is very thin, bolts or screws may not have the appropriate number of threads for the mounting hardware to secure to. Bosses provide additional metal thickness for the threading of bolts or screws, offering greater strength in attaching the marker or plaque to a surface.

What is the difference between a memorial marker and a plaque?

Memorial markers are mounted on the ground horizontally, while plaques are mounted vertically on walls, rocks, poles and benches.
